Marge Wheeler, Composer/ Stetmar Music PublishingMarge Wheeler, nurse, composer, and veteran, writes music that is strongly influenced by her life-long experience in the panoramic setting of the San Francisco Bay Area. Marge has found a way to combine her compassionate caring with her passion for composing. Marge’s Vietnam Veteran War medals of Marge Wheeler- a www.margewheeler.commusical interest and training preceded her education in nursing. Marge studied flute in the San Francisco Public School system, and later studied privately in the San Francisco area, with musicians affiliated with the San Francisco Conservatory of Music of Music and the San Francisco Opera Company.

Her Four Marches for band and chamber pieces have been performed in the San Francisco Bay Area, Washington, D.C., and Russia. Wheeler collaborated with Nick Halbach, who wrote lyrics to her renowned Waltz.  Other compositions for voice include music to the Emily Dickinson poem: “Because I could not stop for Death, He kindly stopped for me.”
Wheeler has recently completed two international recording projects. One project includes a spellbinding interpretation, performance and recording of four of her chamber compositions, including Waltz, and the second is a CD of her Four Marches, recorded by faculty members from the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory of Music, Russian musicians, and the Suvorov Military Band from St. Petersburg.  Marge was invited to conduct her Four Marches with the Suvorov Band in the Summer Garden of St. Petersburg. A second concert was held in Novgorad, Russia, where two of her chamber pieces (arranged by a Novgorad arranger) for four cellos and piano were featured. Wheeler has been invited back in March 2002, to conduct these outstanding musicians once again. A concert and recording session in Novgorad is also scheduled.

Marge is currently composing several new compositions for band, string quartet, and orchestra. One such piece, a waltz for string quartet, is being featured at a live performance in Russia this Christmas.
